When you do it for the least of these, you do it for me.

Our Mission

Walk with families until they can walk on their own.

Open Hand began in 2011 with a single rented duplex and a phone line that wouldn't stop ringing. Fourteen years later, we operate twelve transitional homes, a community pantry serving 200 families weekly, and a workforce program that has placed 412 neighbors into permanent jobs.

Our model is relational, not transactional. Every family in our housing program is paired with a case worker who walks with them for a minimum of eighteen months. We don't measure success by how quickly someone leaves the program. We measure by whether they're still housed three years later.

The answer is usually yes.

What we do

Three programs. One commitment.

Each program addresses a different point on the journey from crisis to stability. Most families touch all three.
